Team. Let's see what we can do together.

Ann Wolford, President

Ann’s professional career has been devoted to mission-driven work. She moved to The Woodlands, Texas 20 years ago from Santa Fe, New Mexico where she worked for the Santa Fe Community Foundation. It was there that she began work in the philanthropic sector and developed a passion for community capacity building and fundraising.

When Ann moved to Texas, her work involved many “firsts” as she was hired into new positions where her role was to build a department from the ground up and develop successful communication and fundraising programs from that infrastructure. She established Interfaith of The Woodlands’ Development and Community Relations Department; Memorial Hermann Foundation’s first Development office at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital; and she became the first Director of Business Development and Physician Relations at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. Ann launched the US Oncology Foundation as its first Executive Director and served as Director of Charitable Giving for US Oncology (now McKesson).

Ann especially enjoys working with volunteers and professionals in the nonprofit field to build capacity in their organization. She thrives on helping groups find the “uniqueness” that sets them apart from other worthwhile organizations. Her twelve years in the health care field give her a unique grasp of the challenges facing health care organizations, physicians and those who utilize their services. Her clients range from startup nonprofits to multi-million dollar organizations.

Ann’s community service includes leadership positions on local nonprofit boards, including The Montgomery County Community Foundation, South County Community Clinic, and The Woodlands Rotary Club and The Woodlands Rotary Club Foundation, where she currently serves as President. She is past president of the Rotary Club of The Woodlands and served as co-chair for its annual Wine Dinner for the four consecutive years. She has been a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is a current member of the Leadership Montgomery County Alumni Association. In June of 2017 she joined the Leadership Montgomery County Board of Directors.

In 2011, Ann established The Wolford Group, a consulting firm to help nonprofits realize their potential, whether it is helping them refine their vision, raise awareness about their services, manage an event, synthesize their resources, or create a fundraising plan. She also works with nonprofits on strategic planning and board development. Among her list of nonprofit clients are: Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, Habitat for Humanity MCTX, Northeast Hospital Foundation, United Way of Montgomery County, Teen and Family Services, Angel Reach, and CASA.

Ann lives in The Woodlands, Texas with her husband Kent and son Nate (one of 5 children from their blended family). A graduate of Louisiana State University, Ann loves family time, yoga, gardening, reading, playing racquetball, eating great food and traveling.

After losing her mother to cancer, Brooke was compelled to make a difference , which resulted in her establishing her own nonprofit organization, Girls Run, to inspire girls ages 6-15 to embrace fitness and philanthropy, and educate them on cancer prevention and advocacy. She developed a successful fundraising program along with educational/fitness programs, 5k races and a variety of fundraising events.

Grassroots Advocacy is also a passion of Brooke’s. From building grassroots campaigns to traveling to Washington D.C. to affect policy change, she has witnessed the heightened awareness earned as a result of grassroots advocacy efforts.
